How much (on average) does a manicure cost in Toronto?

Any suggestions? I'll be travelling there soon. How much (on average) does a manicure cost in Toronto?
It all depends where you go - you can pay anywhere from $8 - over $50 depending on how posh the place is.

Personally, there are two places I go to and they both charge $8 for a manicure and they do a good job - one is close to Bay/Wellesley and the other is at Victoria Park and Lawrence (East York).

There's tons of manicure places across the city, so you'll have a lot to choose from. How much (on average) does a manicure cost in Toronto?
Well, it varies depends on where you go.

In downtown Toronto, you can pay anywhere from 12-30.

-If you go to a well known spa, like for example elixr organic spa (http://www.elixirspa.ca/services.php) you will pay around 15 for a basic manicure- BASIC manicure.

-ANother place is http://www.10spot.ca/services.html and you can view that it ranges between 20-34.

-Any of the spas in the downtown location will be more expensive, however i have a TIP for you. Go to the nail spas owned by asian or oriental employees. They are usually the cheapest and they do the best work and are fast and reliable. You usually dont need to make an appointment and the manicures last a long time.

There are 2 places in particular that I recommend:

-One is in downtown toronto and is off bay and dundas. I cannot remember the name for the life of me, but they are on the north side of dundas on bay, right next to a convenience store. Its very cheap and they do a great job.

-The other is in midtown and near glencarin station. It is called Tammy's Spa. They are about 10 dollars and they do an incredible job. You can also get cheap waxing there- im talking cheap! And they do a GREAT job. 10 dollars for lip and eyebrows both. Glencarin station is about 15 minutes by subway from St.George Station and about 20 minutes from Union Station. You basically take the subway northbound on the yellow university line going to downsview and get off at glencarin. Make sure you get off at glencarin exit (not viewmount) and then walk toward marlee. Its about a 5 min walk and it is on marlee: here is the address: http://www.toronto.com/shopping/listing/鈥?/a>

Here is the toronto transit website as well to help you get around: www.ttc.ca

How to be a Nail technician/manicure teacher?

How do you go about being a nail technician, assuming you have been working in a salon for a number of years, and worked your way up from being a receptionist to nail technician, and then office manager... how would you then go about teaching the subject in a college or university? What qualifications would you need, any help is appreciated! Thanks : )How to be a Nail technician/manicure teacher?
When I was in Cosmetology school here in Texas there was a lady that was taking an instructors class at the same time I was there. She basically was like a student teacher. She helped the main instructor do everything, and clocked in and got college hours just like the rest of us there. The school I went to certified you in hair and nails. The lady that was going to school to be the instructor had already gotten her Cosmetology license years before. So I think that you have to be licensed thru your state for so many years, and have so many working years of experience. Then you can go to the instructor's school and get certified. I bet you can look up the details on your states Cosmetology Commission's website. Good Luck! How to be a Nail technician/manicure teacher?
you can go to a store where the ppl do manicures or to a high school cuz they hav hair and annistetics there and then ask them about it and adk them hoe they got the job and things like that.
You have to have your license, probably years of experience. You wouldn't teach at a college you would teach at a vocational school. Contact your local vocational school and get information about the requirements to teach.

How often do you get a manicure? Do you prefer to go to the salon or do you do it at home?

I go to a salon to treat myself every two weeks. Sure it is cheaper at home but I like how they do it far better than doing it myself.

It makes me feel good. How often do you get a manicure? Do you prefer to go to the salon or do you do it at home?
I try to get one done every two weeks and if I don't have the money at the time, I'll wait until I get the money to go back. I go to the salon for my manicure. How often do you get a manicure? Do you prefer to go to the salon or do you do it at home?
Do it at home...cheaper! If you don't know how or never have done for yourself, then ask a friend to do it for you...still cheaper!
i get it every 2 weeks. %26amp; i like it at the salon, except when the people are making fun of you in chinese. but its a lot easier, %26amp; a lot nicer looking.
i get a manicure every one or two weeks and i go to a nail place to get them done.
Well I think you should get a manicure about every 2 and a half weeks. I think this because I dont want you to damage your nails. Also I perfer going to the salon because they know what they are doing and you might do something wrong at home that may damage your nails forever. But if you dont want to spend that much money then you probably want to do it at home bacause its cheaper.
about every two weeks at a salon
every 2 weeks and it has to be at a salon
I get manicure done every week and I do it in the Salon.
I go every other week to get my manicure. I typically get a pedicure about once a month or so. I do go to the salon.

Why do I nitpick every manicure and pedicure I get?

I just got my nails done and as soon as I get home I look at my nails %26amp; toes and think, thats not right, oh look at that, thats crooked, why is this smudged, that line's too thick, on and on and on. Am I the only one or does my manicurist do a crappy job?

p.s. I got french pink %26amp; white on my nails and toes. Why do I nitpick every manicure and pedicure I get?
it has to do with attention to detail, so it depends on the girls that do the job, I am the same way, I always feel that the nail polish is not fresh enough so it takes too long to dry, or the shape is not identical, they can't get it perfect no matter how hard they try, so we must invent a computer that does it flawlessly! Why do I nitpick every manicure and pedicure I get?
because your life is empty and that's all you can focus on
its not u it the Manicure you pay them to give you a perfect mani and pedi beacuse they are the profesional they should do a good job
Hahaha- I'm the same way! What's funny is that the small ';imperfections'; that I see are not anything that a person just glancing at my fingers/ toes would ever notice. As you know, if you've ever tried to do your own nails, it is really difficult to get them perfect. Unless your nails look really bad, it's probably not the fault of your manicurist.
It's just something women do.
deff a crappy manicurist
Well if your such an expert on doing nails why don't you do your own!
You're probably going to a crappy manicurist.

25ish for french tip for toes and depending on your nails 30ishGirly question. How much does it usually cost to get a manicure and pedicure?
well - i have paid between $40-$75 for hand and feet care... it just depends if you want a 'buff and polish' or the deluxe package of it all with the paraffin-wax stuff or the acrylics etc..i suggest some home care (get your man on the job they have hands of magic sometimes!).. if your on a budget!
Hi it depends on what area you love going to. I know places where a manicure cost 300-400$ and tips are 250$. Designs cost 175$ for two. In more local areas it will be about 25$-30$. Emial me for locations and details. =] pinkdiamondz2@yahoo.com
I have no idea...but just make sure that whoever you are going to has a clean enviroment cause I saw a gurl on tyra who went and got a pedicure and from there she got a flesh eating diesiese
Probably 40.00 to 50.00 dollars if the prices were put together.
pedicure is usually between 18 to 20 dollars

    i dont know about manicures
2-3 dollars for a fingernail and toenail clipper.
IT GOES FOR AROUND $55 A GOOD ONE. A BAD ONE FOR $30.
a crappy asain pedicure and manicure combo = 25

a good asain pedicure and manicure = 50
Well if your doing an mani and no fake nails then about 20-25 and a pedi is 30-35 usually.

    Tip between 5-7 dollars.
It would depend on what state you live in.

I live in Michigan and at a small nail salon it is about 25 dollars for a pedicure and 13 for a manicure.

However if I were to go to a Hair salon the prices could just about double.

    Hope this helps.
    25 $ well around that
