Yes. for traditional gels you need a UV lamp. And no, the one you mentioned won't work.


Yes, there are some gels which do not require a lamp, but they are low quality junk which I would not recommend to even my worst enemy!


BTW, both acrylic and gel nails are not something one should be doing at home without having attended a formal training program first. Its not as easy, or as simple as it may look. But whatever. They're your nails. But remember that once the UV gel has been cured, its permanent, and it will not come off by soaking it in acetone.

It depends on the gel system you use. Some are UV cure, some are 2 part systems that need no UV light.
